While we’re primarily known for smash hit Guns, Gore & Cannoli, the sequel to that game isn’t the only project in development at Crazy Monkey Studios. Today, we’d like to formally invite you to join the Warparty. They tend to get bloodthirsty after a couple of drinks.
Warparty is a brand new action-strategy game developed with pc players in mind. Taking place in a fantasy Stone Age setting, wearing a cartoon style on its furry sleeve, the game’s singleplayer campaign thrusts you in charge of the Chieftain. Players will have to build up their base and rally additional cavemen soldiers to tame vicious dinosaurs and fight rival tribesmen.
Over the course of this challenging campaign mode, players will discover a variety of environments. You’ll have to lead your cave dwellers to victory across scorching deserts, dense jungles, ancient temples and freezing arctic plains. Each area comes with a series of weird and dangerous enemies that will require a clever plan of attack (and perhaps the helping claws of some giant lizards) to walk away the surviving party. By conquering the land, your Chieftain will gain experience points, which will result in more powerful abilities.
Mechanically, the game’s inspired by the all-time classic Warcraft III. Warparty will rely on a combination of resource, cooldown and skill management and you won’t go anywhere near victory without a sense of proper map awareness. To that extent, the camera is pulled way back to give players a clear view of the battlefield, but you can always zoom in to get into the nitty gritty of a conflict.
Unlike most real-time strategy games, but more akin to MOBA gameplay, all of the action centers around your Hero unit. By directly controlling him/her, players can issue commands to their warparty, build up their base to unlock new and exciting unit types and unleash a series of devastating skills onto their enemies. Bottom line: you’ll have to keep track of the flow of combat while at the same time whack some enemy skulls yourself.
In a tortoise shell, that’s what Warparty is all about. There’s a lot more to tell about this exciting project, but we hope we’ve already whetted the appetite of strategy fans a little. Let’s make this a party strategy gamers won’t soon forget!
